There's no time like Christmas time
There's no time like this
Snow flakes falling,
Can't you hear them calling out your name
They're calling you , my friend
There's no joy like Christmas joy
There's no joy like this
Christmas time is that one
Time out of the year
That you just don't want to miss
Christmas time is that one
Time out of the year
That you just don't want to miss

Come on and take my hand
We'll go walking in a winter wonderland

CHILD OF THE KING

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  Satan thought he had me in his grip and in the dark
His dirty plans were all laid out for him to rule my heart
Till Jesus came walking by on that glorious day
He said, “Sorry, Satan, this one’s mine!”
That’s when I took His name

Chorus:  And there’s no doubt about it
I’m a child of the King
You see, I’ve been born again
Into a royal family
I used to be a pauper,
I didn’t have a thing
Till my Jesus came and found me
And He gave me a song to sing
Hallelujah, I am a child of the King

V2:    Stories in the Bible we can read
Times of war and famine,
People had great needs
But, then a man of God said,
"Just trust and obey."
And the lesson learned
Is still the same today

Bridge:  Is anything too hard for God?
The answer is no, no, no, there is not!

BRIANA'S SONG

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  Here I am again, back in my hiding place
Lord, I’ve tried to be strong, but it’s been a rough day
The pain is closing in, but I trust in Your plan
And I know You’re my Friend
So I’ll just hold Your hand

Chorus:  Jesus, I’m so glad that I can trust in You
Just waiting here in Your presence
Makes my strength brand new
And I want You to know
You’ve been my Shelter in this storm
When life’s not fair, I know You’re there
And I’m glad I can trust You, Lord

2:  There are so many in this world
Who have been broken and used by sin
But, when they come to the Master
You know He picks up the pieces,
And he makes them whole again
Yet, they are plagued with the memories
Of a shattered life, and it hurts them still
If they could only see Jesus
As He points them toward a rugged hill
And that’s when He says,

Chorus

Hold on, sleepy little town

Please say you'll reconsider

Before you shed His blood

Tell me, don't you remember?

The prophet said He'd be wounded

In the house of His friends

Could this be it, the time be now,

Sleepy little town?

Wake up, sleepy little town

the night is turned to morning

The stone is rolled away

For some, this brings rejoicing

If you could see your deepest need,

Resurrection's work could be complete

Rub your eyes and gather round,

Sleepy little town

Rub your eyes and gather round,

Sleepy little town

THE GIFT IS LOVE

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

We've heard it said most of our lives

That it's better to give than receive

But, we still get excited when we see

Our presents on Christmas Eve

But, I heard of one Man

Who gave everything He had and more

To give us the best gift

That anyone could ask for

The gift is love, and the Giver is Jesus

He came from above, and He came just to free us

Our gifts that are wrapped in paper and bows,

They fall apart

But, this gift will last forever -

So let Jesus come into your heart

On Time God
Lyrics by Dottie Peoples

He’s an on time God, yes He is
Oh, He’s an on time God, yes He is
Well, He may not come when you want Him
But He’ll be there right on time
He’s an on time God, Yes He is

You can ask the children of Israel
Trapped at the Red Sea
By that mean old Pharaoh and his army
Well, they had water all around them
And old Pharaoh at their back
From out of nowhere God stepped in
And built a highway just like that

You can ask Mary and Martha
Their brother Lazarus was sick in bed
And they said, “Jesus, please come heal him.”
But, Jesus waited till he was dead
And they said, “Lord, I don’t understand it,
Why You’ve waited till now to come.”
But Jesus said, “Lazarus, come forth!”
And death let him go,
He came walkin’ on out of that tomb!

OLD TIME RELIGION

Chorus, traditional, verses written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  Jesus told His disciples
That a Comforter would come
And on the day of Pentecost
They spoke in other tongues
You may think that it’s old fashioned
Or that it’s too good to be true
But the Lord hasn’t changed, the promise is the same
And the Holy Ghost is for me and you

Chorus:  Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion, Lord
It’s good enough for me

Talk To The Lord
Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott * December 2013

(V1)  Maybe you had a good day,
Maybe everything went fine
Or maybe the clouds hung low,
You don’t want the pain to show
Whatever it is, there is Someone Who would like to know

(Cho)  Talk to the Lord about it
Spend some time on your knees with Him
His ear is always open and He is Your Friend
You know that He loves you and He cares
He’d like to meet with you in prayer
So open your heart and share
Talk to the Lord

Nobody Like Him

Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott * November 2015

(V1)  Go tell John, “I can see your doubts.
It’s hard to believe in a prison house.
You were so sure a few months ago,
But your world turned upside down
And now you want to know…am I the One?”
Go tell John what you’ve witnessed here.
And they came running back to him with their eyes filled with tears…

(Cho1)  They said, “Oh the things we heard, oh the things we saw!
The way our hearts did burn when we answered His call.
The blinded eyes can see, the lame can walk again,
Deaf ears can hear and now we understand:
There’s nobody like Him
Ooooo, there’s nobody like Him.”

(V2)  My mind was full of the thinking of this world
And their philosophies were all that I had heard
I tried to pretend that I was satisfied
But, the emptiness I felt could not be denied
Could there be more for me?

I’d heard that religion was only for the weak;
But, one time in His presence was enough to set me free…

Now, we know that it's the holidays

When we smell the pumpkin pie

And the doorbell's always ringing

With friends and family stopping by

Then we gather around the piano

And sing the songs we hold so dear

Then Daddy opens up the Bible

And the room grows silent as

We all lean in to hear...

Chorus

It's more than just a story

It's what it's all about

And its wonder and its glory

Can turn a life around

Luke chapter two

It never grows old

Though we've heard it so many times through

My life has been changed

Since I found the truth

In Luke chapter two

How many times do our eyes get so blinded

From the cares of this world and this life

Let's not forget that Jesus is knocking

Much like He was on that night...

Jesus is hope, and Jesus is peace

In a world that doesn't know

What peace even means

Jesus is light in a world grown so dark

And His love can heal your wounded heart

Don't turn the King away

So many things I'd like to change about that day...

Don't turn the King away

(Verse 2)   Now, here we are walking in the light
Surrounded by the darkness, in a world black as night
Satan comes and he says, “Look around.
Pleasure is waiting if you will just bow down.”
But, there in that moment
When we’re faced with two roads
Then we make our decision
And we let all eternity know

(Cho 2)   We wouldn’t trade Him for the world
It is worth the sacrifice
And we count it all a joy to live
For the cause of Jesus Christ
We can see the wealth and riches
But, then our eyes turn toward the Lord
And He is worth so much more
We wouldn’t trade Him for the world

GREATEST NEWS OF ALL

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

The greatest news, the greatest news

The greatest news of all

A Baby born in Bethlehem

Inside a shepherd's stall

You've heard some good news,

You've heard some bad news

But, this outshines it all

A Baby born in Bethlehem

That's the greatest news of all!

On a hillside, in the moonlight

Shepherd's watched their sheep

Unsuspecting of the secret

That heaven couldn't keep

All of a sudden, up in the heavens

There shone a holy light

The angel said, "Don't be afraid,

I bring the greatest news tonight!"

2:  When Jesus walked on this earth,
He healed the sick and He raised up the dead
And when someone had a need
They came to Him, and their need was met
Cause there’s nothing He can’t do
And there’s no problem He can’t see you through
And His power is still the same
So get down on your knees and call on His name!

Bridge:  Prayer is the key when everything’s wrong
Prayer is the answer when all hope is gone
There is no place where the healing waters flow
Like down on your knees at God’s throne

Tag:  In your hour of sorrow…

He’ll give you hope for tomorrow…
Things begin to change when you…

SOMEBODY LOVES YOU

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

Chorus:  Somebody loves you, Somebody cares
Somebody’s listenin’ to your every prayer
He came from heaven, and He died to prove
That Somebody loves you

1:  You feel forsaken, you wear a frown
You think this whole world has let you down
But, I know of one Friend Who will be true
And Somebody loves you

Bridge:  Somebody loves you, Somebody loves you
Somebody loves you, Somebody loves you

V2:     Listen to the witness of those gone before
They’re standing, watching now from heaven’s open door
They’ll tell you to run on and fight the good fight
And remember to hold to what’s right…
They’re saying,

Bridge:     We may be troubled on every side, but we are not in distress
Cause we’re held in the hands of the One Who can see
That we’re strong enough for the test…  For the test  KEY CHANGE

(V2)  His world came crashing in, he knew he’d reached the end
His crimes were calling out for judgment
In his prison cell that night, he hit his knee, began to cry,
“God, I’m broken and tired of running.”
Then a gentle whisper in his ear
Brought a brand new hope that made its way through his tears…

(Cho2)  “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more
You don’t have to live the way you’ve lived before.”
There in his darkest night, Jesus offered him new life
He found there’s hope in just one place
And that’s at the feet of grace

(Bridge)  We all come from different lives, but the story’s still the same
There’s no place to run and hide but in the arms of grace

(Cho3)  Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more
You don’t have to live the way you’ve lived before
The law said that we must die, but Jesus offered us new life
We found there’s hope in just one place
And that’s at the feet of grace

(V2)  Whatever you’re going through

Whether it’s good or it’s bad
He’d like to share your joys and your tears,
He’d like to take away all your fears
And when you call Him, He will be oh, so near

(V3)  Maybe your mind’s on a child
Whose heart is turning away
Or maybe your soul’s in need of a friend
To fill those lonely hours you spend
When it comes to your tears
Nobody understands like Him

You Just Don't Leave What You Love

Words and Music by Denae Joy Abbott 12/14

(V1)  They’d spent the best years of their lives side by side
Raising their children, loving and learning through every stage of life
But, her sickness had taken its toll; she didn’t know who he was any more
Yet, for twelve years he cared for his bride
And though she didn’t know the difference he was there by her side
Cause he said…

(Cho1) “ You just don’t leave what you love -
You keep on giving till there’s nothing left.
The vows that I’ve made are enough and she’s still my very best friend…
You just don’t leave what you love.”

(V2)  Sometimes I think about the way that Jesus gives
He keeps on loving, though loving me offers no advantage to Him
For I have nothing to offer the Lord except the broken life that He’s restored
And though so many times He could walk away
I find Him there in my trouble, and I’m completely amazed
When He says…

He Wouldn't Trade Us For The World

Words and Music by Denae Joy Abb0tt 1/14

(Verse 1)   There is Jesus, hungry, in the dark
On a lonely mountain, evil crowding His heart
Satan comes and he says, “Look around.
These kingdoms will be Yours if You will just bow down.”
And in that moment He could have walked another road
But, He said, “It is written.”
And He let eternity know…

(Cho 1)   He wouldn’t trade us for the world
We were worth the sacrifice
He would walk the way of suffering,
Knowing we were worth the price
He saw the wealth and riches
Then He saw our dying souls
And we were worth so much more
He wouldn’t trade us for the world

2:  There are those who try to tell us
That the gospel’s too severe
They say, “You’ve got to make everyone happy
Tell them what they want to hear.”
Oh, but I’m not compromising,
Not looking for an easier way
This was good enough at Pentecost
And it’s good enough for me today

Chorus 2:  Give me that old time religion
Good religion like it used to be
Give me that old time religion, Lord
It’s good enough for me

Go Tell The World (Jesus Is Alive!)
Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott * January 2016

(V1)  Days were dark and nights were long
No one knew just what to say
And they wondered what had gone so wrong;
Hope was in the grave
But, early Sunday, just before the dawn
Mary found an empty tomb
And she cried, “Where have they taken my Lord?”
Then the angel said, “He is not here, share the news!”

(Cho)  Go and tell the world that Jesus is alive
The darkness has been shattered by resurrection’s light
Truth will always triumph and life will prevail
Jesus stands and holds the keys to death, the grave and hell
Go tell the world, go tell the world
That Jesus is alive!

TAKE ME TO JESUS

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  He heard that Jesus would pass by
He cried, “Son of David, have mercy!”
You could see tears in his blinded eyes
When he turned to the stranger and said, “Please…

Chorus:  Take me to Jesus, take me to Jesus
Take me to Jesus and everything will be alright
Take me to Jesus, take me to Jesus
Take me to Jesus cause He’s the Giver of life
No one can do what He does
Cause no one else loves me as much
So take me to Jesus, and everything will be alright

2:  Plant a seed and see what comes out of the ground
Or find the heartbeat on your baby’s ultrasound
In a few years hear him laughin’,
And don’t it sound like a song?
Stop and think about what you don’t understand
Things like life and love and how the world began
Hear a doctor say, “We can’t explain it,
But the cancer’s gone!”

Bridge:  Science says it’s all just circumstance
Like this whole world’s just an accident
But, if you want to shoot that theory down,
Just look around

2:  Before those doors open wide
Before that first note strikes
I’m gonna start getting in tune myself
Cause we know how life can be –
All the pressures that it can bring
Shake off the world and start giving our best!

SLEEPY LITTLE TOWN

Written by Daniel Abbott

Wake up, sleepy little town

Don't you ever wonder

What you might have missed

While you were lost in slumber?

A holy night, a Baby's cry

Bringing hope with the morning light

Rub your eyes and gather round,

Sleepy little town

What's that, sleepy little town?

You say you're just too busy

To take a little time,

After all, He's just a Baby

But, angels tell of peace on earth

They say this is the Savior's birth

Come and see what shepherds found,

Sleepy little town

What's this, sleepy little town?

You say he's too familiar

A king should wear a crown

This One looks just like a carpenter

Consider this before you pass Him up

It's said, Emmanuel, God's with us

Lay your prejudices down,

Sleepy little town

A STAR WAS BORN

Written by Lanny Wolfe

A Star was born one night in Bethlehem

A Star was born for all mankind

It was a tiny Babe named Jesus

A Star for now and all of time

A Star for now and all of time

Hope was born one night in Bethlehem

Hope was born for all mankind

It was a tiny Babe named Jesus

Hope for now and all of time

Hope for now and all of time

Love was born one night in Bethlehem

Love was born for all mankind

It was a tiny Babe named Jesus

Love for now and all of time

Love for now and all of time

2:  I know of some people, they’re just hangin’ around
Waiting for something better to come along
But, I know that sooner or later they will find out
That this is the best thing going on
You might as well just…

3:  He never promised an easy road
Never said that our lives would be trouble-free
But, hasn’t He been so good, been there like He said that He would
And heaven is waiting for you and for me!
So let’s just…

C2:  Put our feet on the ground, get our minds made up
Say, “I’m not goin’ anywhere at all.”
God’s been to good and heaven’s too near, oh too near
And we’re in this for the long haul
Oh yes, I’m in this for the long haul

Bridge:  Grandpa, I never got to meet you
That’s one thing I’ll always regret
But, this much I know is true,
One day we’ll get our chance
To walk and talk together
In a place so much better
Than the streets of Paris France!

Chorus 2:  And we will dance and we will sing down the streets of Paradise
The saints walk a narrow way, but it is worth the price!
I’m so glad you went ahead and did what you were called to do
‘Cause I’m here on these golden streets because of you…

2:  Now there may come a time when that old devil comes around
And with his tricks and dirty lies, he’ll try to bring me down
But, I’ll just ask one question, “Do you recall the day
When my Jesus heard me calling,
And He washed my sins away?”

A Song In The Old Guitar

Words and music by Denae Joy Abbott 8/15

(V1)  The general consensus was that the old guitar had seen its better days
And when people walked by it
They told the owner, “Might as well just throw it away.”
But, then a man came walking by
The old guitar – it caught his eye
He picked it up, tuned it up and said,
“Just name your price.

(Cho1)  Cause there’s still a song inside of this old guitar
And I can smooth away every bruise and scar
All it needs is some tender love
And I’ll bet with a gentle touch
I can make it just as good as new
There’s still a song inside of this old guitar
And you might as well play a song until it’s through.”

(V2)  The general consensus may be that you’ve

seen your better days
And maybe you feel like
The best days of your life have gone completely to waste
But, when the Lord comes walking by
He sees more than a broken life
He’ll pick you up, tune you up and say,
“I’ll pay the price.”

2:  He had been sick for so long
Forever lying on this wretched bed
But, when he determined he would walk
That’s when he turned to his four friends and he said…

Bridge: “The Name of Jesus”  Words and music by Aaron and Amanda Crabb

Jesus, there’s something ‘bout the name of Jesus
There’s healing in the name of Jesus
There’s peace in the name of Jesus, Oh  {X2}

ON THE WAY TO CHURCH

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  Peter and John went to pray
Met a lame man along the way
He was sitting there begging and asking for alms
Peter said, “Of gold I have none.
But, with faith this can be done:
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Get up and walk!”

Chorus:  Oh, I still believe that going to church is grand
And I still believe in having church whenever we can
But, don’t wait till you walk through the doors
Start rejoicing even before
The choir sings and the preacher says, “Amen.”
Right now start singin’, and praisin’ and dancin’
Cause you never know what can happen
On the way to church!

THERE IS A GOD

Written by Ashley Gorley and Chris DuBois

1:  Try and put your arms around a hundred year old tree
Climb up on a horse and let him run full speed
Or take a look down at the world
From 30,000 feet on your next flight
Watch a flock of birds against the mornin’ sun
Or close your eyes and listen to the river run
Catch a firefly in your hand or a raindrop on your tongue
That’s right

 Chorus:  There is a God,
There is a God, there is a God,
How much proof do you need?

Love Must Have Opened My Eyes

Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott * January 2014
Written for PJ and Sheree Conner

(Cho)  Who would have thought that all along it was you?
And who would have dreamed that you were my dream come true?
When did it happen, when did I see

That you were the one God intended for me?

When did I realize?
I guess love must have opened my eyes

(V1)  We were just kids having a whole lot of fun
We were just friends, but our story had just begun
We’d only begun
Now, look at us, look where we stand
Pledging our love with our hearts and hands
Somewhere along life’s path
The friendship has turned to romance

Tag:  We were just kids having a whole lot of fun
We were just friends, but our story had just begun….

HOW MY SAVIOR CAME

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

It was an ordinary night

In an ordinary town

An extraordinary sight,

An extraordinary sound

A Babe lay in a manger

While the angels sang above

Could it be that this was how

A King would show His love?

Have you ever been serenaded by an angel in the sky?

Have you ever heard an angel sing a luulaby?

Have you ever made a bed out of a manger filled with hay?

That's how my Savior came

You Can Overcome
Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott, 10/13

V1:    Joseph in Egypt, oh, what he went through
Things sure weren’t easy, but tell me what did he do?
He held to his dreams and let go of the past
And he saw God’s purpose at last
He’s saying,

Chorus:
There’ll never be a mountain that you cannot climb
Don’t ever doubt that He’ll show up on time
When you’re the weakest, that’s when He’s strong
With the temptation, He’ll make a way out
Heaven is waiting if you’ll stand your ground
You’ve got what victory’s made of
And I know that you can overcome

For the Long Haul
Lyrics and music by Denae Joy April, 2014

1:  Sometimes all it takes is a bad day
And some people are ready to turn around
Sometimes all it takes is the wrong word from the wrong somebody
And they’re ready to throw in the towel
But, you’ve got to…

C1:  Put your feet on the ground, get your mind made up
Say, “I’m not goin’ anywhere at all.”
God’s been too good and heaven’s too near, oh too near
And I’m in this for the long haul!

(Cho2)  And oh, the things I heard, oh the things I saw!
The way my heart did burn when I answered His call
My blinded eyes could see when I was born again
That all I’d ever need was in His nail scarred hands
There’s nobody like Him
Ooooo, there’s nobody like Him

(Br)  You see I was lonely, He took me in
I was broken, He made me whole again
Now, I know that no one else could love me like He does
There’s nobody like Him, Jesus!

(End Chorus)  Oh the things we heard, oh the things we saw!
The way our hearts did burn when we answered His call
Our blinded eyes could see when we were born again
That all we’d ever need was in His nail scarred hands
There’s nobody like Him – He’s the Lion and the Lamb
There’s nobody like Him – the beginning and the end
There’s nobody like Him, no, nobody like Him
Nobody Like Him

(Cho2)  “You just don’t leave what you love -
You keep on giving till there’s nothing left.
I left my glory above so I could be your best friend,
And you just don’t leave what you love.”

(Bridge)  No matter what tomorrow may bring or what may come my way
One thing I’m sure of – Jesus, it’s Your love
Will always be here to stay

(Cho 3)  Cause you just won’t leave what you love
You keep on giving till there’s nothing left
You left Your glory above, so You could be my best friend
You just won’t leave what You love

(Tag)  And I’m so glad that You just won’t leave what You love

DON'T TURN THE KING AWAY

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

"There's no room in this inn,"

I heard myself tell him.

Joseph wiped his weary eyes and plead with me again

He said, "My wife's with child.

We've been traveling a long while

And she's tired. Won't you help us?"

So many things I'd like to change about that day

But, how could I have known Who I was

Turning away?

That Baby was hope, that Baby was peace

In a world that doesn't know

What peace even means

That Baby was light in a world grown so dark

And His love could heal my wounded heart

I'd turned a King away

I JUST DON'T THINK THAT I CAN (WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS)

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

I'm aware that it's May

But, I'm a little ready to hear some Christmas music play

I turn it on as soon as I can

I know it's only July

But, I'm a thinkin' it's time to hang the Christmas lights

Let em shine just as long as they can

I hope the neighbors don't mind

That the music drifting out of my windows

Is a few months ahead of its time

I think that they'll understand

I'd wait a little bit longer if I could

I just don't think that I can

They were expecting

A mighty conqueror

They were expecting

A kingdom here on earth

They were expecting

A prince in flowing robes

But, while they weren't looking

A Baby slipped through the back door

Chorus

There was no palace, no banner unfurled

There was no scepter for the King of the whole world

But, He came to this earth with one purpose on His mind

To give His life for mine...

Chorus

2:  Oh, my Friend, when you feel like it’s done
Your life’s come to an end
God still has the power to cover all your sin
He’ll take away your old past
And He’ll give you a new life
Don’t forget, please don’t forget
The love of Jesus Christ

Lyrics For "A Time For Joy!"

JESUS MEDLEY

(Jesus, What a Lovely Name - written by Darcy Abbott/Happy Birthday, Jesus - written by Carol Cymbala)

Although He was rich, He became poor

His poverty opened heaven's door

He left His throne, His throne up above

He came to die, to show mankind His love

Jesus, Savior, What a lovely name

Alpha, Omega, Beginning and the End

He came from heaven

Redeemer, Savior, Friend

Jesus, what a lovely name

Chorus

Jesus, what a lovely name

Chorus 2:  You may weep, you may weep because you’ve failed
You have failed to pass the test; left the One Who loved you most
But you can say, “Though I’m ashamed of my sin,
The very One that I’ve denied is calling me to try
So, I’ll get up and try again.”

Bridge:  Rejoice not against me, oh mine enemy
When I fall, I shall arise

End:  His Word says we’ve all come short, we’ve all sinned
But, the Lord’s reminding us of the power in His blood
Let’s get up and try againe.

Happy Birthday, Jesus

I'm so glad it's Christmas

All the tinsel and lights

And the presents are nice,

But, the real Gift is You

Happy Birthday, Jesus

I'm so glad it's Christmas

All the carols and bells

Make the holidays swell

And it's all about You

Happy Birthday, Jesus

Jesus, I love You

Chorus

Happy Birthday, Jesus

(B1)  The captives are imprisoned by hope instead of fear
The faithful of the ages have seen their Lord appear
Go tell the world, go tell the world

(B2)  Christ, the Son of David, is Lord of every man
And just as He ascended, He’s coming back again
Go tell the world, go tell the world

(B3)  The promise of the Father is poured out from on high
And just as they received it, so can you and I
Go tell the world, go tell the world

Key Change - Chorus

THE ONLY ONE WITH SCARS

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  She cried, “Lord, I am broken,
There’s not a whole lot I haven’t gone through
And Lord, I do want to serve You
But my life is in pieces,
And I’m not sure what I can do
Sin has battered and bruised me,
And left me with oh, so many scars
But, I’ve heard You’re a Mender
So I’m giving You my broken heart.”
And that’s when God said,

Chorus:  “I took the blame two thousand years ago
On Calvary’s hill
And I bore those nails so I would know
Just how you feel
And there’s coming a day when
Your hurt will be gone
With all those painful memories
And the only One in heaven with scars
Will be Me

2:  There are times when I just understand why
You don’t heal me right now
Cause I know You know how
But, You know what You’re doing
And I know You’ll get me through it
And I see every day
Miracles along the way

Bridge: “’Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus”  Public Domain

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust You, How I’ve proved You o’er and o’er.
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus, oh for grace to trust You more…
I’m glad I can trust You, Lord.

At The Feet Of Grace
Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott *  July 2014

(V1)  Caught right there in her sin, no hope of living then
She was guilty and she knew it
Cold stones were in their hands as they drug her to a Man
His name was Jesus, she’d never seen Him
She could feel death in the air
But, the Master’s words changed her tight then and there…

(Cho1)  “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more
You don’t have to live the way you’ve lived before.”
The law said that she must die, but Jesus offered her new life
She found there’s hope in just one place
And that’s at the feet of grace

PLEASE SEND SNOW!

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

I grew up in Arizona, where its not too cold

and every year at Christmas time

Since i was just a few years old

I'd pray to the Lord and ask Him for just one small thing

It completed my Christmas list

And down on my knees

I'd pray,

"Snow, snow, snow

Please send snow, snow, snow!

Just enough to build a snowman

And have a snowball fight

Please send snow, snow, snow

Let it snow, snow, snow

We'd have so much fun

If You'd let it snow tonight

STREETS OF PARIS FRANCE

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  Grandpa got a letter that fateful autumn day
Said he had to leave his wife and the baby on the way
The call came from his country to serve in the war
But, grandpa had a feeling God was opening a door
So, while others were carousing, that’s when Grandpa saw his chance
To take a guitar and his Bible down the streets of Paris France

Chorus:  And he preached and he sang about the goodness of the Lord
People laughed and some jeered, saying, “Man, we’re in a war!”
Oh, but Grandpa didn’t care, this was what he was called to do
Share the Gospel, the Good News
On the streets of Paris France

2:  Some didn’t like it, but how could they do away
With a preaching soldier boy who witnessed every day
They put him on an empty bus headed for the front lines
The future looking pretty dark, but in the nick of time
A message made its way through that the victory was won
The driver had to turn around ‘cause the war was done!

Lyrics for "From My Heart"

Just a hint of peppermint

And every single thing
Begins to feel like Christmas

And just like the snowflakes,
No two are ever the same
There's red and white and candy-striped
And every shape and size
Oh, what a sweet treat this is!
So, hop on the choo choo
And Whoo Whoo to Candy Cane Lane
You'll be all aglow,
From your head to mistletoes, oh
There's no road
That could ever smell as sweet
Or look as good enough to eat
There's nothing like
A city block of hanging lights where I
Just want to curl up by the fire,
Pour a couple cups of cider
And roast all those marshmallows
As far as eye can see,
They're lined with bows outside the streets
Just like scene from a snowglobe
So, come on, let's go
Take a stroll down to Candy Cane Lane

Who Knows What He’ll Do
Lyrics and Music by Denae Joy Abbott, August 2016

V1:    So, you’ve got a problem that you just can’t solve

You’re running out of time and your back’s against the wall
It’s in times like these when you’re glad you have a Friend
Who’s got the whole world in the palm of His hand

Cho:   If He can turn the water into wine
If He can part the Red Sea just in time
If He can take a little boy’s lunch and feed a multitude
If He knows how many hairs on your head
If he’s heard every prayer you’ve ever said
And if all of His promises are true
Then you better stand back and hold on
Cause who knows what He’ll do for you!

(Cho2)  Cause there’s still a song inside of this broken heart
And I can smooth away every bruise and scar
All you need is some tender love
And I know with a gentle touch
I can make you just as good as new
There’s still a song inside of this broken heart
And you might as well sing a song until it’s through

(Bridge)  Maybe you feel like your work is all done
But, you just never know-
Maybe your song has just begun…

(Cho 3)  All you need is some tender love
And I know with a gentle touch
I can make you just as good as new
There’s still a song inside of the old guitar
And you might as well play a song until it’s through

The Singing Abbotts

WINTER MEDLEY

(Winter Wonderland - written by Felix Bernard/Candy Cane Lane - written by Jennifer Zuffinetti/No Time Like This - written by Denae Joy Abbott)

Sleigh bells ring, are you listenin'?

In the lane, snow is glistenin'

A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird

Here to stay is a new bird

He sings a love song as we go along

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman

And pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say, "Are you married?"

We'll say, "No man,
But you can do the job while you're in town."

Later on we'll conspire

As we dream by the fire

To face unafraid the plans that we've made

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Walkin' in a winter wonderland

We'll go walkin' in a winter wonderland

PRAY

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

Chorus:  Pray, oh pray
When trouble surrounds you everyday
You must pray, oh, pray
Doubts disappear and gone are your fears
When you pray, pray, pray

1:  Trials come to us all, we all know that
It’s just a part of life
And when the tears began to fall, and you can’t hold back
No matter how hard you try
When you think you’ve lost it all
And you feel like life has stolen your song
In the middle of your pain
Remember, you can call on Jesus’ name

(V2)  Friends in this life, they come and go
And often when hard times come
You’re all alone
But, that’s why in good and bad
It sure is nice to know
That Jesus will never fail

(Bridge)  Jesus never fails, Jesus never fails
You might as well get thee behind me, Satan
You cannot prevail because Jesus never failsIf Anybody Will Be Faithful

LUKE CHAPTER TWO

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

Now, it came to pass in those days

That an angel came to a virgin girl

He said that she had been chosen

To bear the Savior of the world

Now, they went to be taxed in Bethlehem

But, there was no room in the Inn

So, they went down to the stable

The only place that she was able

To lay down her head

Luke chapter two,

The greatest story that's ever been told

A Baby brought light into the dark of the night

And He still is the Light of the World

It never grows old

Though we've heard it so many times through

My life has been changed

Since I found the  truth

In Luke chapter two

If Anybody Will Be Faithful

Words and music by Denae Joy Abbott 8/14

(Cho)  If anybody will be faithful, Jesus will
Hold your hand through the darkest storm

And whisper, “Peace, be still.”
If anybody will walk beside you
Never leave you, always guide you
If anybody will be faithful,
Then I know Jesus will

(V1)  Life has its set of ups and downs
If you’ve lived very long
You know what I’m talking about
But, in a world that’s always shaking
There is solid ground
Cause Jesus never fails

PETER WEPT

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  He had seen the signs and wonders
Walked a thousand steps by the Master’s side
He had pledged to never leave Him
Even if it meant giving up his life
Yet, here he was when he was needed most,
And he had left the Savior so terribly alone
How could things ever be the same?
How could he lift his face again?

Chorus:  And Peter wept, Peter wept because he’d failed
Peter failed to pass the test; left the One Who loved him most
But, Peter said “Though I’m ashamed of my sin,
The very One that I’ve denied is calling me to try
So I’ll get up to try again.”

2:  You may not have seen it coming
But, the tempter knew the weakness of your soul
Now your heart’s consumed with sorrow
And you’re wondering how you ever stooped that low
Now here you are with a choice to be made
Will you stay here drowning in the pain of your mistake?
Or will you choose to start again
With a chapter called “Redemption”?

NOBODY LIKE HIM

We all know the story well,

How the shepherds came in the night

And the wisemen lived so far away

But, they saw His star in the sky

And they came and brought their gifts of

Gold, frankincense and myrrh

But, these gifts could not compare

To the One that came in a manger

Chorus

Don't let the season pass you by

Without giving God a chance to change your life

With His gift of love

Chorus

Let Him in this Christmas

Let Jesus come into your heart

Let Him in this Christmas
Let Jesus come into your heart

Now, if you enjoy nice weather, my homes the place to be

In the dead of winter it's 60-something degrees

That's why these folks come traveling in,

We call them "snowbirds"

If they could only hear the prayers of

One little girl

Praying,

Chorus

Chorus

Please send snow...

One Step At A Time
Lyrics and Music Denae Joy Abbott * July 2015

I never thought this part of life
Would be so hard to understand
I thought that with a blinding light
You’d reveal to me Your perfect plan
But, here I am confused again,
Unprepared for what’s ahead,
Depending on Your strength for my next step…

But, You know me and You’ll show me
The path that You have chosen for my life
If I will trust You, You will be true
You’ll never let me down or leave my side
Together we will make it
I’m learning how to take it
One step at a time

I guess that through uncertain days
I am learning how to hold Your hand
And through your mysterious ways
The pieces come together in Your plan
And looking back I now can see
That there’s a very different me
More prepared to do Your perfect will

WHAT A LOVE

Written by Denae Joy Abbott

1:  What a love that bore the pain of
The stripes upon His back
What a love that gave, and gave, and gave
Till there was nothing left
What a love that laid down His life
Just to set our spirits free
What a love, what a love
Jesus had for me

 Chorus:  What a love
That took my sins away
What a love
That paid the debt I could never pay
What a love
That died upon Calvary’s tree
What a love Jesus had for me

Chorus

With every new day another headline

Sends its message out

A lot of worry, a lot of hurting

That's what they're all about

But, a broadcast was interrupted

Two thousand years ago

"Hark!" the herald angels sang,

"There's something you need to know!"

Chorus

A Baby born in Bethlehem

That's the greatest,

The greatest news of all!

Finally, September is here

Let's send the greeting cards out a little early this year

Let them enjoy them as long as they can

When December rolls round

And Christmastime finally makes it to our town

We'll say, "Stay just as long as you can!"

Chorus

I think that they'll understand

I'd wait a little bit longer if I could

I just don't think that I can

I'm aware that it's May

But, I'm a little ready to hear some Christmas music play

I turn it on as soon as I can
